Welcome to Tri-County: Timmy “Mini” Tyrrell and the Timmy Tyrrell Racing team are looking to start their 2018 campaign at Tri-County Motors Speedway. The track is a multi-groove 4/10 mile track known for putting on some of the best races in the Southeast region. Mini has never been to the Hudson, NC facility but he’s got the experience of his crew chief Brandon Butler to help him be ready for the 100-lap race on Saturday evening.

CARS Tour Limiteds: Mini will participate in what will be the first Limited Late Model race ever sanctioned by the CARS Response Energy Tour. CARS launched in 2015 with both a Late Model Stock Car tour for perimeter chassis’ and a straight rail Super Late Model touring series as well. With a change in how they have scheduled their other two series in separate events for much of the season, the Limited Late Models have been given two opportunities to compete with the series.

Riding High: What’s the best way to end one season to guarantee you’ll have momentum all winter? Win the final race of the season and Mini did just that last November by winning the Limited Late Model portion of the Thanksgiving Classic at Southern National Motorsports Park. That coupled with many new tracks on the horizon for Mini has him and his team excited to get this season started.

Been There, Done That: Mini’s crew chief Brandon Butler has been to Tri-County Motor Speedway only once but his record speaks for itself. He sat on the pole for a Hooters Pro-Cup Series race there in the late 1990’s and led more than 200 laps of a 250-lap race. He’ll be coaching his young driver on how to get around the worn out asphalt that makes up the Tri-County Motor Speedway.

Made for TV: Mini has seemingly been on television a lot during his career in racing so far and that will continue as for the first time he’ll race in front of a national audience at Tri-County. The event will be streamed live on CARStour.tv and with a monthly subscription to the feed, you will be able to catch all 100-laps of the Limited Late Model race plus a 150-lap Late Model Stock Car race featuring some of the regions best racers.

Keeping Up to Date: If you’re not able to be at the track or unable to purchase the live stream there will be several forms of media coverage throughout the weekend to keep you updated. RACE22.com will have RACEDAY LIVE from Tri-County with Speed51.com featuring Trackside Now coverage and Short Track Scene will have the latest from the event as well as several other media outlets. Mini will also be updating his social media outlets this weekend including his Facebook page & twitter which can be both found by entering: @minityrrell

Schedule: The race will take place on Saturday at 3pm with qualifying and practice preceding it starting at 12noon. They will also have a test day on Friday from 2pm to 5pm.

Representing: As always Mini will be representing his sponsors and partners this weekend at Tri-County Motor Speedway. Castrol Edge, PPC Lubricants, Beautiful Bodies Body Shop, Racing Virginia, Mini’s Mission, Jeff Gordon Children’s Foundation and Convenience Car Sales & Service are helping Mini get to the track this season.

New Duds: Mini will also be sporting a new look for this weekend and the rest of the 2018 season as he debuts his new website at www.MiniTyrrell.com. Designers from RACR Promotions and RACE22.com collaborated on a new design that helps promote Mini and his Mini Tyrrell brand.
