AGE: 15

HOMETOWN: Manassas, VA

Born Timmy Tyrrell and named after his father, he picked up the nickname “Mini” at a young age and it stuck.  He’s affectionately known as Mini by thousands of race fans around the southeast region.

Mini has won two Late Model Stock Car championships and is the youngest in the world to win two Late Model Stock Car races at the age of 10.  Mini was the youngest to win in both the youth and pro divisions of Arena Racing (½ scale indoor stock cars).  He also won the World Karting Association’s (WKA) World Dirt Championship at Daytona International Speedway.

For 2019, Mini will compete in the CARS Tour Late Model Stock division known for being one of the top touring series in the country and selected as a “Touring 12” driver.  He has veteran Late Model Stock Car champion, Brandon Butler, serving as his crew chief which certainly gives him a leg up on the competition.

Off the track, Mini is a philanthropist having raised $450,000 for childhood cancer and other causes through Mini’s Mission “Burn Rubber to Help Another.”

Car Chief: Dan Givens

Dan Givens got involved with a dirt car team and through the years has transitioned to asphalt. He works full-time as an auto technician but keeps his weekends open to go racing with Mini. Dan met the Tyrrells at Shenandoah Speedway about four years ago and Timmy and Dan became fast friends when their mutual enjoyment of racing spilled over that day at the track.

“The next weekend they went racing I was invited to go back, and the rest is history. Since then I have gotten involved with the fundraiser events that Mini holds on an annual basis for his charity Mini’s Mission. Our small team has become so much more to me than just a weekend hobby, the Tyrrell Racing Team has become like a small family to me and I feel so lucky to have become a part of such a special adventure.”  Dan Givens

Larry Graff

Larry has more than two decades of experience as a writer and journalist. Along with Mini, he shares a passion for childhood cancer fundraising, having raised nearly $250,000 for research and quality of life services through online fundraising and community events on a national level for Make-A-Wish and the Jeff Gordon Children's Foundation. Larry first met Mini and his family in 2012 at Mini's charity kickball event and has been a great friend and teammate since then.

"Without a doubt, my closest teammates in the fight against childhood cancer have been Mini and his family.  It would be easy for people to assume that the bond we share is about motorsports. And that would be incorrect. The bond we share was forged through the fire of pediatric cancer. It's about doing everything from the heart, being there for the people you love, and giving far more to others than you could ever receive."

Tire Specialist: Larry Lindsay

Mini's Dad Timmy, has been doing my auto maintenance for nearly 30 years.  I've know them for years!  Mini's paternal grandparents were our neighbors when his dad was in high school.  In recent years, I found out that I have a tie to his maternal grandparents.  I'm a retired Engineer Officer in the U.S. Army.  Mini's grandfather was in the Army at the same time I was, we both started the same year.  With racing, I went to Shenandoah Speedway in 2017 and watched a few races and then last year the team invited me to Carteret County Speedway to help out and my involvement has grown from there.

"Larry is a great man.  I've known him since I was a baby.  He works extremely hard on the team, really funny, incredibly smart, honorable man and I love that he salutes the flag during the National Anthem," Mini Tyrrell

"The strength of the team is each individual member. The strength of each member is the team." --Phil Jackson
