Mini Tyrrell and the #81 Mini T's Fastest Grease In The East team head to Hickory Motor Speedway in Hickory, North Carolina for Saturday night's race with four-leaf clovers, gris-gris, and horseshoes hoping for a dose of good luck. Mini is coming off a pair of disappointing finishes to begin the CARS Tour Late Model season. An oil leak at Southern National Motorsports Park relegated him to a 24th place finish, while brake failure at Ace Speedway resulted in a 26th place effort.

The race at Hickory will be the first time that Mini will compete in Late Model races on consecutive weekends on the CARS Tour. "I think it's great having back-to-back races, but it's also very time consuming for my team," said Mini.

Last week at Ace Speedway, Mini was challenging for 9th place just past the halfway mark of the Race at Ace 125 when his brakes failed. Almost immediately, his focus shifted to redemption on Saturday night at Hickory Motor Speedway. "Hickory is such a challenging place because of its intense bumps and banking," said Mini.

The track, which opened as a dirt track in 1951, is often referred to as the 'Birthplace of the NASCAR Stars.' Legendary drivers such as Junior Johnson, Ned Jarrett, and Ralph Earnhardt were track champions during its first decade of operation.

Although the CARS Tour committed to holding both Late Model and Super Late Model races at Hickory, the events will likely be held without fans in the grandstand because of governmental spectator limits in North Carolina due to the coronavirus.
