MANASSAS, Va. -- Quaker State, a recognized leader in motor oil and automotive lubricants, will serve as an associate sponsor of Mini Tyrrell and the #81 Timmy Tyrrell Racing team for the full CARS Tour season in 2021.

Quaker State has a venerable history in motorsports and is woven into the fabric of automotive culture. The company's logo has adorned the cars of legendary NASCAR champions Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, and Bobby Allison, as well as 20-time World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series champion Steve Kinser.

The name "Quaker State" was coined in 1912 when T. G. Phinny of Phinny Brothers Oil Company of Oil City, Pennsylvania, used the name to distinguish his product from that of rival marketers. The following year, Phinny answered a call from the Franklin Automobile Company of Syracuse, New York, for a quality motor oil that would meet its vehicles' particular lubricating needs.

Quaker State is produced by SOPUS Products, a division of Royal Dutch Shell.
